# OCT Formal Sanity Check

Version: v0.1
Date: 2026-04-16
Purpose: to verify that the OCT extension is formally consistent with classical category theory.

## 1) General criterion

OCT is formally acceptable if it satisfies together:
1. **Syntactic conservatism**: it does not break the classical categorical foundations.
2. **Explicit semantic extension**: Adds constraints, not renames.
3. **Classical recovery**: the classic framework and well-defined limiting case.
4. **Local non-contradiction**: No OCT axiom logically conflicts with identity/composition.

## 2) Axiom by axiom compatibility check

## O1 Singularity

Risk:
if interpreted absolutely it can conflict with the practice of isomorphism.

Disambiguation required:
- O1 does not deny categorical isomorphism;
- O1 denies the automatic identification between isomorphy and complete ordinal equivalence.

Outcome v0.1: compatible (with this disambiguation).

## O2 Generative relationship

Risk:
confusing typification with ordinative validity.

Disambiguation:
- "morphism exists" (classic) and distinguished from "OCT-valid morphism" (extension).

Outcome v0.1: compatible.

## O3 Compositional coherence

Risk:
apparent violation of classical compositional closure.

Disambiguation:
- the classic closure remains true in `O`;
- O3 defines a subset of OCT-valid compounds.

Outcome v0.1: compatible.

## O4 Monoidal of the field

Risk:
ambiguity between classical monoidal axioms and ontological interpretation.

Disambiguation:
- monoidal laws remain categorical;
- the meaning "relational field" and additional semantic level.

Outcome v0.1: compatible.

## O5 emergence

Risk:
`Phi` not formally typed.

Disambiguation needed:
- fix codomain of `Phi` (e.g. ordered set, semiring, lattice).

Outcome v0.1: partially compatible (requires technical specification).

## O6 Non-degeneration

Risk:
confusion between emergent nullity and categorical inconsistency.

Disambiguation:
- `Phi=0` does not imply "non-existent structure" in the classical sense;
- implies "non-OCT-real structure".

Outcome v0.1: compatible.

## O7 Internal observer

Risk:
slide into non-formalized relativism.

Disambiguation:
- `Omega` and formal evaluation parameter;
- robust objectivity and invariance across classes of contexts, not absence of context.

Outcome v0.1: compatible with additional formalization.

## 3) Mathematical points to be established immediately (mandatory)

1. Precise definition of `Coh_Omega(D)`:
   - boolean predicate or value in [0,1].
2. Precise definition of `Phi_Omega(D)`:
   - codomain and minimum compositionality rules.
3. Relationship between `Coh` and `Phi`:
   - strong/weak implications.
4. Definition of `tau` threshold of ordering reality.
5. Formalization of the `Omega` observation context:
   - indexed/fibrated category or other equivalent structure.

## 4) Claim to keep (strong but defensible)

1. Non-OCT-real commutative classical diagrams exist.
2. There are classical equivalences, not ordinative equivalences.
3. The classical theory is recovered as a limiting case of OCT.

## 5) Claims to avoid (until formalized)

1. "Isomorphism does not hold" (false: it must be qualified).
2. "OCT replaces category theory" (better: it extends it).
3. “Phi measures everything” (domain, scale, limits needed).

## 6) Overall result v0.1

Rating:
- solid conceptual structure;
- classical compatibility generally maintained;
- technical specifications are needed on `Phi`, `Coh`, `Omega` to go from manifesto to fully formalized theory.

Status:
`PASS WITH FORMALIZATION REQUIREMENTS`

## 7) Immediate Actions (v0.2)1. Define typed scheme of `Coh`, `Phi`, `Delta`.
2. Formalize F03/F08/F10 with uniform notation.
3. Introduce an appendix "Notation and conventions" unique to the entire work.
