[1] DEFINITION AND PURPOSE

VERT is an ordinative framework for verifying religions, spiritual paths, traditions, initiatory schools, contemplative disciplines, philosophies and historical figures.

1.1 What VERT DOES NOT Assess

• Dogmas, beliefs or mythologies
• Whether a tradition is "true" or "false" in a metaphysical sense
• Theological validity of doctrines

1.2 What VERT Evaluates

• The structure and real effects of the route
• The impact on the identity of the practitioner
• Consistency with the organizational principles
• The emerging function of tradition
• Vulnerability to degeneration

Guiding question: “What does this tradition do to those who practice it?”

[2] LAYER S — SOURCE PRINCIPLES

S0 — Source Singularity

Question: Does tradition arise from an authentic singularity (identity vector) or from a cultural aggregate?

S1 — Transmission Proximity

Question: How far are we from the original source?

S2 — Original Structure vs Image Construction

Question: Is the tradition based on the structure of the teaching or on the image of the founder?

Image construction indicators:

• Birth mythology (miraculous conception, celestial signs)
• Supernatural powers attributed
• Infallibility declared
• Veneration of the person instead of knowledge
• Uplifting narrative instead of operational structure

Principle: The more the tradition centers on the image of the founder, the more it has lost its content.

S3 — Certification Mechanism

Question: How does tradition demonstrate that the promised state is real?

E0 — Evolutionary Position of the Source

Question: At what evolutionary level was the founder operating?

Principle: The evolutionary level of the source determines the maximum potential of the tradition.

E1 — Evolutionary Position of Transmitters

Question: Were the transmitters at the founder's level, higher or lower?

Scenarios:

• Superior Transmitters (very rare): Tradition evolves
• Transmitters on par: Tradition maintains its level
• Lower transmitters (very frequent): Progressive degenerationIndicators of degeneration in the transmission:

Factors that increase vulnerability:

• Rigid hierarchical structure
• Untranslatable esoteric language
• Unverifiable promises
• Attractiveness for the engram

Factors that reduce vulnerability:

• Explicit verification criteria
• Horizontal or functional structure
• Translatable language
• Tradition of self-criticism
